The Deegan Project Stewart Bitkoff, Ed.D. Spiritual Traveler
	Press Release- October 3, 2004   Starting this October, 1000 printed copies of the work , HOW TO ATTAIN ENLIGHTENMENT ON THE MAJOR DEEGAN EXPRESSWAY, by Stewart Bitkoff, Ed.D., will be offered free to rush hour commuters at Grand Central Station, Penn Station, Port Authority, and other commuter locations.   As the initial step of a volunteer effort, The Deegan Project*, is designed to help lessen the stress on daily commuters and make the road through life more pleasurable, one person at a time. Stewart Bitkoff, a doctoral graduate in education has completed many works revolving around self-improvement.  HOW TO ATTAIN ENLIGHTENMENT ON THE MAJOR DEEGAN EXPRESSWAY  is based on Dr. Bitkoff’s personal experiences traveling to and from work on a monster of a highway – The Major Deegan.  This short book offers the reader a way to free the mind from the drudgery of commuting to work everyday.   The simple philosophy presented in this book is easily applied to other mundane and tiresome activities beyond commuting.  This aspect speaks to all readers, and for its universal appeal, was chosen as the introduction of Dr. Bitkoff’s work. During the coming months, select commuters will be offered a free copy of the work.   The only requirement in exchange for the book, explained on the first page of the text, is that they read it, then pass it on to another, and make a contribution of their choice (do something for another person, donate to a charity, etc.). It is the commuter’s choice to accept or decline the offer.      Dr. Bitkoff has been known to print a limited number of paperback copies of his works to offer to colleagues, bookstores, learning centers and other interested parties to share.  Expanding on this philosophy, The Deegan Project was conceived to introduce his work to a larger audience. The volunteers in agreement with Dr. Bitkoff’s thoughts, believe that the extraordinary power of giving will become infectious and HOW TO ATTAIN ENLIGHTENMENT ON THE MAJOR DEEGAN EXPRESSWAY will help improve lives as copies circulate throughout the nation exchanging hands from one reader to the next.    New York City is just the starting point of this grass roots project.   Don’t limit the possibilities. * The Deegan Project does not wish to be affiliated with any human development system or religion.
